Commissioner’s Corner 9/30/2016

Commissioner’s Corner 9/30/2016:

·         Standings and Schedule Attached.  Oh No... Brad (Triple H) is in 1st Place!  All teams at 1 and 1.
·         Chupacabra and El Cubano continue winning ways.  Burt played great again!  Social Media stay tuned.
·         Emile 0-2 has Hunt questioning draft selection even after getting first W for Nice Shot but Out.  Team name is accurate even if line calls are not.  Ronny still not over non-selection by Hunt.
·         2 and O Bentley throws down the gauntlet and secures team win for Hunt with a little help from Billy.  If anyone didn’t know…. He’s in charge of Thursday Night Tennis and should have been drafted earlier!  Just ask him.
·         McGuire looking for prayers after 2nd defeat in two matches played.  Tries to heal wounds with haagen dazs ice cream with a whisky chaser.  May have lied on pre season injury report.
·         Croft questioning line calls from afar after Tucker and Vic take down Chap and Skip.  High value pic Vic told not to “Worry” about draft position and just play.  Advice proves successful.  Bad calls and all.  Mitch still “Thinking” about whether the ball was in or out asked not to overrule any and all line calls.
·         Triple H Sweeps Stogies (3-0 Baby) with the crowd sitting courtside (I mean on the court) for match clincher.  Zipp not appreciative of the crowd noise falters.  Lob shot nightmares keeping him and Gordo up at night.  Ferrer (2 and 0) challenging Harvey for best fourth round pick award.
·         Fair finally bought a round of Beers after suffering first loss.  Nick, you may want to make sure he charged the correct account.
·         Awesome playing by Chris and Donald as they took down Ray and Steve 1 & 6. Poor Steve didn't even sweat enough to change shirts!
·         Brad goes from Line 1 to Line 3 to capture his first W. Left handed battle between Jawn and George is won by the Carolyn Park Hall of Fame inductee.  Way to  represent.
·         Speaking of Haagen dazs….Phayer back to reality suffers first defeat.  Vertically challenged but claiming to be healthiest tennis player not named Steve.  Claim of healthy BMI unsubstantiated.
·         One question remains….Will Eskine ever play a match that counts or will he always be on Court 8 with Frank.   Stay tuned next week for this answer and more.  Great playing everyone!

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
