Bentleague IV Blog 11/9/2018 Edition – Flip Flops and Socks… Seriously?

Bentleague IV Blog 11/9/2018 Edition – Flip Flops and Socks… Seriously?

Fashion Police are in a tizzy with Bentley’s No shave November ensemble last night… it was bad enough last week with the warm up pants and flip flops but how Regina let him out the house with long pants, Flip Flops,  and Socks is beyond comprehension.  Next week think of Roberto Duran before you depart and just say No Mas to the flip flops all together.
Now for the Tennis recap….
The jury is in!  East Jeff Grad’s have no honor. Mitch “the snake” Tucker tries to pull a fast one on Captain Willy claiming he didn’t have eight for League tennis because of the BHGH tourney.  Called out by the masses the shameful effing MTers miraculously found eight available once the commissioner called his bluff.  Lesson to be learned…you cannot rely on the honor system when two EJ grads are involved.  Glad the commissioner stepped in to keep this league honorable.  You should be ashamed Mitch.  My guess is that Schiester Lawyer had a role is these shenanigans!  “Let’s move Line 1 to Saturday”…yea right….this had Phayer’s name written all over it.

Tribal Tony and the Ego Fair take down B iii and a hacking robbie economedies
Inch for Inch two of the best athletes at PAC prevail in a closely contested battle on court 5.  If either of these guys were over six foot, we’d be watching them on TV quoted one fan.  The Ego, one of two remaining undefeated B IV players, and the streaking Italian humble the son of the Chairman and “light up another cig” Robbie in straights.  Return game was on again as the Stallion reels off three in a row after a slow start to the season.  One Pink koozie returned while at the same time exacting some revenge on his fellow 4th rounder B III.  Winning ways continue for Priola on the pool table at Daiquiris but that if for another blog all together.

Cayman and Peacock Perry win vs Mitch the snitch and todd the wet Sprocket.
Roll reversal for the Peacock as he serves up his own bagel and a breadstick to the tarred and feathered Mother Tucker captain and the usually sound Todd the wet sprocket.  This one was over quickly for the cheat as the rain he was hoping for never materialized.  The IPA’s were barely cold by the time The Strutting Peacock and Cannon Cayman dispatched their foes.  Nice to see the swagger back for the Peacock and this dynamic twosome could prove formidable in the DS 2nd half title run.

Ferr and Free Willy beat Shane and George in straights.
George goes down…George goes down….and no one was more pleased than Mr. Kingsdorf himself.  Friends be damned as the Willie Nelson look alike was ecstatic that B IV had one less unbeaten.  Fine team chemistry on display by Mr. competitive (Ferr) and Captain Willy.  Nsync duo making Justin and JC proud.  Over 55 USTA team stalwarts giving Captain Willy plenty of options moving forward.

Greg and Addison beat Paul and Magic Mike Mount in Straights.
Per Billy - Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.  Billy has seen this tactic before and this time he was ready.  The old switch-a-roo of Line 1 pitted the Auburn Tiger and a confident Addison against (just want the doctor ordered) Eskine and the cow bell playing Magic Man. The disheveled MFTer captain waves bye-bye to first place as the double shot duo dominated an anti-climactic 2nd set tie breaker to secure a team sweep for Double Shots.  A little more cow bell couldn’t have hurt.
1st match Tally:
Double shots 4, EffingMothersTuckers 0

7:30pm Night cap

El Cubano and jedi jeff beat brad and RobbieG in straights.
A #TooCasual Brad coming straight from BHGH Tourney spells doom for Team Burrito.  It’s sad when you’re captain would rather get a colonoscopy than witness another #TooCasual defeat in B IV by his 3rd round selection.  Rising to the challenge, after witnessing earlier DS sweep, a motivated Cubano and Padawan Thompson were too much to handle for the not so steady twosome.

Grumpy Keller and Super ray beat Big john a and jayb
Putting a 1 and a 2 together vs. a 1 and a  4 prove easy pickings for CMC squad.  Super Ray shines with the Grumpy Councilman in straights.  3rd set ass whooping for fun won’t be good for the confidence with Double Shots up next.  Super Ray rebounds from previous weeks’ debacle to get back into the Win column.  Brad could learn a thing on two from the Grumpy Councilman’s Business like approach.

Burt and Bruce beat Chris and Gordo
Wearing the undefeated crown with pride, the senior member of the geritol three leaves Gordo and Chris left scratching their heads after another disappointing loss.  No nonsense approach by Baller Bruce and Chupacabra’s  aggressive net play proved lethal against the odd Flying Burrito pairing.  Quick exit by Kobrock and Gordon sad to see.  Pre-season predictions coming true for snake bitten Andrew.

Blake and Fast Freddie lose to Tricky Nicky and the Steely Eyed Tyler
Yes….We have an Olinde sighting.  Match of the night…provides rude welcome to B IV for Fast Freddie Olinde.   Holding his own at the net early, Fast Freddie’s legs and Blake’s shaky serve falter down the stretch.  As one could surmise...once it went to the full third set the conclusion was never in doubt.  Crowd was definitely behind the yutes in this one, but that was only because no one wanted 1st place CMC to take all four.  Chalk one up for the Burritos as the youths rally and take a tightly contested third set.

Flying burrito’s avoid sweep and take 1, CMC captures 3

New Standings as of 11/9:
1 CMC 17W 11L
2 Double  Shots 16W 12L
3 Mother Tuckers 14W 14L
4  Flying Burritos 9W 19L

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
