Little Punky takes advantage of favorable match up.  FB coming up empty again on mismatched pairings.

Batman (GOOF) and Beardless Boy Hunt 3-0 over the real Pipe Master (Gordo) and racket breaking Kobrock
Disheartening to hear about yet another Kobrock defeat and a broken racket to boot.  Didn’t witness myself but I would have turned away.  Unfazed by season ending loss, Nice Guy Gordo just happy to have more wins than the aging before our eyes Chairman.

The Donald and B III over the Worse Number 1 pick ever (Big John) and the worse number 3 pick ever (Brad). 
What looked good on paper on draft day disappoints again for captain Burrito.  Late replacement for the Latin Lover could have used more time to rate players I guess. 

Todd/Eskine lose Nick and RobertG
Promising start to B IV for Todd the wet sproket going south fast.  Pairing with Eskine no help.  Glad to see new comer Groeneveld getting a W. Battle of 10th and 11th round picks gives Burritos the win.  Tricky Nicky wishes he could play Eskine every match.

7:30 Champion Match
A lot of pre-match shenanigans from the Crying Cuban set the stage for some testy tennis.  Phone calls to opposing players who have been MIA for weeks, babysitting duties and travel trumping Bentleague participation, and worse but not least an Elton John Look-alike contest in which the Grumpy Councilman prevailed.  More drama than ladies Northlake.  At least no one wife filed for divorce.  Well not yet anyway.  Have a feeling a couple of honey-dos may be in order after some Bentleaguers’ partake in a late night N’Tini’s/waffle house/bacon eating outing.  And…don’t get me started on the “stay in the car until I text you” eff up that the CMC captain pulled to mask his line up till well past match time.  I expect that kind of shite from Whiny Brouillette and Cheese but not a guy who may or may not live on Lakeshore drive one day.  The Italian Nadal expects more out of Bentleague Captainship.  Lets rise to the occasion boys, not lower the standards that were set dating back to Bentleague numero uno.

Captain America and the Peacock take down late arriving Burt and Schneider.

The steady Captain exacts small revenge on Schneider in battle of cut shots not to mention the Peacock’s shot of the century.   Rocket Tweener early to set the tone for DS and had the Cannon in a tizzy.  Bagel and a pair for Double shot Line 1 left the Cuban questioning his Latin Tinder compadre.

The Ego and Stevo make light work of Doubt and Ananth.  0 and 0.  Doubt questioning giving up Elton John Tickets after being sold out by his questionable leader.  On a side note….George not exactly sad his geritol friend chalked up the loss.

Billy and Caston lose to the cheating/Crying/Cuban and Senor Sid.  Welcome back Robbie. 

Addison and Ferr lose to Whiny Brouilette and Jedi Jeff.
Valiant effort on potential comeback that came up just a little short in 2nd set TB for Double Shot tandem.  Tall task on paper but I’ve seen this CMC fall before.  Can’t wait to see them near line 1 next Thursday.

Tie Breaker.
1 singles line and 4 doubles lines.  Best of five for the title boys.  Bring Beer.  That goes for you too Donald.

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
