Nov 9th, Saturday RECAP - B V Final Round

Make up match from 10/26
Kevin and Hal vs. Tiga and Jacob to catch up on 3rd round action cancellation/postponement.
Handsome duo take it 0-2.  Yep…Phony Phayer and Neo Nietzchman exposed.  The Ineffable Priola brings A-game to his 2nd winning match of the day (Salute to all Veterans) and truth be told, the score was not as close as the match contrary to what the Shyster will tell you.  Preserving albeit small glimmer of hope to HOF’ers title chances.

Nov 9th, Saturday RECAP

8:00        BFAM    vs            B III Ball Busters
                Tim/Keller                           Buddy/Brad        6-3,6-3
SirIsaac continuing to make the Rooster crow.  Come on Doc Tim…we needed BFAM to step it up.  Power display from BIIIBB to much for the Judge and the tall drink of water.

                Donald/Chris                      BIII/Fair 6-2,6-4
Another close one for The Donald.  Is anyone tracking individual records?  This display could get ugly for captain BFAM.  I mean he isn’t at Free Willy’s clip for W’s, but three win’s a little disappointing.  I feel he is on the cusp of another really close match…

                Burt/Shane                         Robby/Nick        6-4,6-4
On paper it looks like one break a set.  Don’t know the details but assume it was a close one.  I foresee the Robby and Nick duo in my future.  Looking forward to it.  Hope I am in town.  Good win Aholes.

                Todd/Wayne                     Cayman/Perry   6-1,6-4

Say what?  This one had to leave the B III Captain shaking his head.  4.5 Todd and 3.5 Perry must have shown up.  And this SOB ( B III) wanted to swap out Perry for Come Back Shane mid-season.  The Nerve.  Good win Mr. Durr.  Bet Perry wishes he could play Vicious Vic each week to keep the competitive juices at 100 degrees Celsius.  Swami would have lost money on this one.

                Hal/Seth                              Rocky/Jonathan 3-6,6-2,1-0
Halotosis VonNeitchz and Seth win in three.  Tale of two sets early definition of inconsistent play.  Glad to see crazy eye Seth enter the win column.  Sorry Rocky, don’t see many yellow highlights by your name in Bentley’s summary report.  No Robby across the net, means Mr. Irrelevant get the L but a pretty respectable L nonetheless which is close enough for government work and the Donald.

9:30        Hall of Framers vs            Bring It
                Jon/Butcher                       Kenny/J.allen    6-4,6-7,1-0
Well that solves that.  Battle of numbers one’s finally gets decided on the court.  Quotes from Bring It say Jon stepped it up when he needed too.  Would have liked to see this one myself but was busy handling business on my own court.  Lessons from Tops’l paying off Butch.  I see a line two pairing in our future.  You hear that Fair.
                Jeff/Mesa                           Billy/Schneider  3-6,6-4,1-0
WTF!  Words cannot describe what I witnessed on court 13 from these four.  There you go EJ grads…I just gave you the definition of ineffable.  Some observations from the peanut gallery.  Jeff did a good job covering about 23% of the court.  What was Mesa thinking getting into baseline rallies with Mark “one trick pony” Schneider.  Must have been too tired to charge covering 77% percent of the court for the first two sets.  Congrats to Billy for getting off the snide and getting first B V victory.  Nice Guy Willy deserved the win, just not against HOF Capt. And his 3rd round pick.  Disappointed is an understatement.  Five an Oh gets HOF’ers back in the mix.  4-1 does not.  EffMe!

                Jacobs/Tony                       Ferr/ Addison    7-6,7-6
Handsome duo remain unbeaten.  Late night wedding may have played a factor for Bring It pair.  Once the buzz wore off for NickWannaBe, game and forehand started to fade along with his teams chances to upset the good looking B V stalwarts.  Tie Breakers were anti climatic but sets were indeed close.  But this isn’t horse shoes so close only gets you to 2nd place.
                Sumner/Mitch                  Andrew / Tyler  7-5,6-4
Nice win for Sumner and Svelt Mitch.  Burrito eating Bring it Wild card hard to tame but consistent net play from the lefty and steady ground strokes from Not Winter but Sumner gets HOF’ers the W.
                Hebert/Winn                     Skip/Paul             6-3,6-1

Oh, if we could only dial up an Eskine each week.  Affable Paul always a treat to PAC tennis but not many W’s to his credit.  Too much length on the court for HOF’s had the Skipper and the Professor questioning game plan.  Swami justified in HOF pre-draft depth analysis but continued disappointments at the top of the draft hurting title chances.  It’s not over yet, but the fat lady(ies)  I dated after my first divorce are warming up and testing out the mics.

Standings below.  Some still need to get in their required matches.  Let’s get on the stick and finish out the final round in style with the Mantra BEAT the Ball Busters.

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
