FOY line one concession spoils rematch of early season classic.  Gimpy B III prevents pay back opportunity for rising young stars.  Nice of BSS duo to split up and make the outing competitive.  Sorry Cam and JayB.  Short Commish thought his weighted scoring system would have prevented this.

2 Horseman take line two 1 and 0 against Ray and Sir Skip.  Even with the bum knee this one appeared easy.

Line 3 stalwarts Brad and Ronny win handedly again Saba and Robbie.  Swami seen some good points from the sideline but sadly it was from the BSS twosome.  Could they have won at line 2 is a question Shane will be kicking around the water cooler.

Big Honeysuckle gets his first W paired with Svelte Mitch against Mr. Hustle Ferr and Come Back Shane.  Best Lefty at PAC’s crisp volleys just what the doctor ordered for the finally off the snide Allen brother. Closest match of the night until a lopsided third goes to FOY in three.

Where to begin.  First on at 6pm, last off at 8:45pm.  Battle of the Geritol two did not disappoint as 20 shot rallies were the norm.  If patience is a virtue, Gorgeous George and Bureaucrat Bruce were virtuous for nearly three hours.   Full third set finally took its toll and the youthfulness of little Nadal with Double B’s steadiness brought home the victory.

Another 3 out of 5 outing for the Fountain of Youth team.  Kockamamie Kevin strikes again with no points for winning more than you lose.  Why five lines Kevin if winning three don’t matter?

Am I reading that score correctly?  7-5 second set after a goose egg first.  Was thinking no one could beat the Buise/Peltier pairing until I seen that. No doubt about it, Marauder team is top heavy and taking advantage of the Phony Phayer scoring system.

Continuing with the above theme, the Travis and Donald show continues to roll.  Easing Seargeant Schwartz in with a line 2 debut backfires for Smackroe.  Swami can only imagine what the bruised Ego must be thinking taking another one on the chin.  I foresee a line 3 pairing on his horizon.  Can anyone humble Traveling Travis and Mr. ReHash at line 2 and why is O’Connell at line 3?  You can’t concede lines 1 and 2 Addison.

Big Check O’Connell bounces back with impressive victory over the slumping Thompson.  Paired with EffUHunt and playing a lot better that his debut two weeks ago brings an easy 2 and 2 win and a smile to Captain Addison.  Long way back to the title chase, but Smackenroe at least mounting some minor point W’s.

Brouillette/Harper combo takes down Big Head Todd and Crazy Eyes Monaghan.  Appears like three lopsided sets based on published scoring from the Short Commish.  Thank god for a full third sets ehhh Ray.

Addison riding Gambler Greg and Keto Jawn like Coach Bum used to ride Earl Campbell.  I don’t blame him, like Bum used to say…if you got the big gun - use it.  Swami and Captain Addison wondering if a promotion may be in order for these two. Looked like a close match, but Swami says key to success here is to get weary legged lacoste to that critical full third set.  Oh, what could have been if that 7-6 second set goes the other way.  Close but no cigar again as one too many volleys go into the net late for Jared. Marauders take top two lines and win on points.

Marauders 9 – SmackEnroe 7

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
