Bitter Face Addi and Keto Jawn take Big Head Toad and Sly easily and throw in a bagel 2nd set to boot.  Jawn vying for MVP status shows Addison how to record W’s.  Swami predicts pairing with the competitive St. Bernardian transplant may actually set the young man up to record more W’s in future matches.  Swami likes like the captains playing at line 1 controlling their own destiny.  Great idea who ever thought of this twist to B VI pairings.  Disappointed Todd needed consoling afterwards.

Taz and Sumner beat Sergeant Schwartz and the Gambler in what may have been the best match of the night.  The Real MVP (Travis) solidifying his status as steal of the draft...  Not to mention he has played almost every week.   If the big guns show up every week, you have a fighting chance says the Swami.  Sumner’s forehand consistency the difference down the stretch helps MM squeak by 10-8 in a very close third set tie breaker.

4 and 2 loss for Juan Buise and Jock Pelitier?  Did Juan have a Tiga on his mind thinking ahead to Fountain of Youth matchup.  These two looked unbeatable just last week…Nice to see the big guns from Smackenroe paired up together.  Gives them some hope for the rest of the season.  Impressive beat down administered by Sir Isaac and Mr. Notorious allowing their number two pick to slide down to friendlier confines at line 4.

Super Ray shows up just in time to assist the Ego in solid win against Mr. Rehash and Hefty Lefty giving The Donald his first lost.  Jeffro on a little losing streak hopes to right the ship on Saturday.  The Ego happy with the W and happy to see Buddy the Elf and Sean make it through a match without fighting.

Line 5 results revealed yet another third set tie breaker.  Damned are the days of the full third set.  Marauders lucky to have taken 2 of the three tie breakers to stay in first against rising from ashes smackenroe.  This time, the Short Commish and familiar partner Kool Hand Kobrock came out on top against EffUHunt and Greg ‘Spicoli’ Gordon.  The dirt and Kobrock’s forehand a little too much for the smackenroe twosome.  Although they split two, third set anticlimactic according to reports.

Smack takes 10 of 16 and jumps back into the conversation for 2nd or 3rd.

Mother Eff’er!  This is one is disappointing to write.  First off, All he does is Win McCarthy takes down the consensus favorite in straights captain of the FOY squad.  Didn’t get to watch much of this one, but a dejected captain was seen walking all slumped shoulders off of the court.  Swami knows that Charlie Hustle guy has been playing good tennis.  In fact, he witnessed about a set in a half of good tennis from him on Tuesday.  Battle of captains and Eighth Rounders had me thinking plus 5 for FOY.  Rumor has it that leads were lost, confidence waned, and points went to BSS pairing.  Well, last part is a fact.

Three and a nine vs. a five and a 10.  Knew this one would be trouble missing JA if Sundial Roberto answered the bell.  The guy with the accent was solid and Roberto stepped up when needed to secure the straight set win.  Hal showed a Heart of a Lion battling along the baseline.  Needed a little more help up front.  In the end, the baseliners could not pull it off and hats off to the solid BSS pairing.

Red Baron and Braggart Brad take down Butcher and Anderson.  Wow.  Come on…it’s Brad for goodness sake.  After a close first, FOY team crumble by the looks of it.  Where’s the effing Moxy.  Can we ever get a full line up to appear on the same day?  6-2 second set has Swami scratching his bald head.  Damn.

Battle of the biceps on court one read the billboards.  Priola vs. Dautrieve.  Power against Guile.  Genetics vs. Heart.  All the while you had Regouffre licking his chops, smirking that crooked smile, happy to have that Dr. Death pairing.  Just the fuel Svelte Mitch and Lil Nadal needed.  Adding Fuel to an already hot fire as they say.  Swami says definitely a competitive match.  Game plan was simple yet effective.  Keep rallying with Dr. Doo Doo until Mitch could put his crisp volley’s away.  Don’t shy away from the power and extend the points.  In the end, it was back to back victories for the Prince of the Parish and the best left hander at PAC.  Sweep averted.  Thank god.  Small g.

Big Burrito and Smooth hitting Skip take down Politico Jay and Geritol Bruce on clay.  2 and 2 disappointing for the Swami to recap.  Have to think the pickle ball playing Burrito dominated the net.  Would have thought Jay’s versatility could have slowed down the athletic three hundred-pounder.  All in all a tough outing for fountain of youth.

Big Swinging Sticks take 13 of 16 and jump right back in the title chase.  Fountain of youth better right the ship quick or this season could be in jeopardy.

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
