Tricky back into the win column with the Chairman and FOY really needed the victory and the 5 points that came with it after last week’s debacle.  Precious Paul can’t buy a win damnit and the love affair with Bogalusa Doug fades to black like a Sopranos episode.  Assume Big Head Todd is to blame because is is no Doug Autin.

Pajama Shirt wearing Taz cementing MVP frontrunner status with yet another easy win.  This time against Halitosis Hal and the Two-win Candlestick Maker.  If FOY don’t mount a challenge quickly, Swami knows where this draft went south.  Four horsemen…, it is time to step it up!!!

Juan and Jock make it look easy against an out matched John Denver and Total Recall Robby.  FOY missing first three draft picks not helping winning percentages of 5th and 8th round selections. Not your fault fellas.  You were not supposed to win this match.  Way to chicken out on Line 5 challenge for Jon MM Captain.  Whose call was that…you or yellow belly Juan….?

Tricky dials up Svelte Mitch /Lil Nadal pairing again to secure back to back line 4 victories for this tandem.   This combination proving to be formidable with an undefeated Mitchell providing the Thunder and the Prince providing the lightening even after drinking multiple bottles of wine the night before.  Bystanders watch a dejected Hetty Lefty slither off the court as he realizes fate as 2nd best left hander at PAC.  Hats off to staying for the after party Jeffro.  I’ve seen others depart in a huff after losing to the unorthodox Italian.  Dr. Death….are your ears ringing?

FOY captain dials up third win of the day with The IrishMan McGuire and Cam the Zipper duo.  Django Durr and Major Payne go down 3 and 3 to this interesting twosome.  FOY Captain happy to escape with three victories after being dealt a short-hand.  How about a full line up against Smack-a-hoe to get back into the mix. Disclaimer: Swami does not condone smacking hoes.  Just a different take on the name.

Jagermeister Melacon liking the Butterbean Priola pairing as they see Victory Lane two weeks in a row.  This time against BSS Stalwarts One Unplugged and Come Back Shane.  Questionable calls aside, this pairing looked tough to beat and I have a strong feeling Addison may dial this one up more that once in the very near future.

Only person not liking the above is weary legged LaCoste.  Oh, how he must miss line 4 and 5 with his buddy Butterbean.  Gazely’s Ground game and Burrito McQuaid’s net play a little too much for the 4th round replacement player- Schwartzman.

Oh Snap, we have a new power couple in Bentleague.  Mr. Notorious and Buddy the Elf racking up wins 2 points at a time.  Smackenroe squad showing signs of life as top three players make two matches in a row.  Wait…that’s all you need to do in this cockamamie scoring league is get your top players to play each week?  Way to weight not only the lines of each match short commish, but now you make top tier talent who are drafted early score more points each match.  Talk about lawyer bullshit.  MM get to pick 3 of top 9 (not counting the bruised ego) and their lines count more than every other effing line except in round 2.  You may know latin short commish but you do not know math.

Best match of the day restores the Ego’s swagger.  Three close sets climaxing with Smackenroe victory and Ray stays super one more week.  Missed opportunities and missed overheads for BSS hurt.

Was that an EffUHunt sighting on line 5 paired up with Free Willy.  Free Willy says he’ll take it and the easy victory for a change vs. Mr. Robinson and Silky Skip.  What a difference a week makes ehh Hunt after losing on the dirt last week.  A win is a win is a win - I guess.

Totals getting interesting. See below:

Totals:

MM’s 77

SmackEnroes 45

BSS 70

FOY 64

Next match Thursday Nov. 5 will be the last of the Captains playing line 1.  Nick get ready to eat some Turkey.  Was it Butterbean or Butterball?

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
