Todd goes down again.  Captain my Captain round not treating him kindly.  Come Back Shane and Charlie Hustle Ferr take down MM Captain and I know what you did last Sumner 4 and 2.

Welcome back to Bentleague Latin Tinder MVP.  Glad the elbow rehab healed you up, even though it looked costly.  Another week in Bentleague and another win for MVP candidate Pajama Top Travis.  Paired with the short commish helps MM squad again with 4-point victory over aforementioned tinder king and sundial Groeneveld 2 and 3.

All they do is win win win.  Swami getting tired of writing about Yawn Buise and Jock Peltier.  Clearly the foundation behind MM title run along with Mr. Rehash and PJ Top Travis.  Taking down Tim the Knife and the Red Baron no small feat.  Swami seeing surprising athleticism from gray beard Jock and Yawn playing with a chip on his shoulder ever since Tiga passed him up the alley at TOPS’l.  When the top-tier players perform this well and show up every week in Kevin’s cockamamie scoring system, it is no wonder these four have MM squad poised for the title.

1 and 2.  Ouch.  What happened to line 3 from Ashville?  Captain Toad’s practices at BC paying off as Lefties dominate.  Always a pleasure when someone slows the mouth down but on paper this one should have been closer.  The Donald playing some of his best tennis lately and Jeffro enjoying the ride.

7-6, 7-5 made for the best and most entertaining match of the day.  In the end, the big boys net play and Andrew’s speed too much for crazy eyes Monaghan and don’t underestimate me Wayne’s World Durr.   Swami says word on the street is that Burrito McQuaid played like his last meal was on the line.  Shane pressing the right buttons with this pairing and getting Bev to serve salads in prep of Thursday night tennis.

9-7 advantage MM squad to Big Swinging Stick’s dismay.

Damn Tricky!  This was supposed to be your round.  Jerrico Jawn propels himself into MVP race discussion with Captain’s round point tally.  5.0 Addison shows up just in time to ensure winning margin in close third set.  Jägermeister Melacon’s Grave digger banana slice on the run spells doom yet again for fountain of youth.

The Chairman’s cries of “put me in coach” were finally heard.   Better listen to him Nick.  Nice win by Big Honeysuckle and the Chairman to gain JA his first 4-point victory (It’s about time 3rd rounder).  Seargeant Schwartz and the tired GreGore Lacoste go down in three, but good tennis prevailed, and Big B gives father time “the hand” and his many naysayers.

Come on…EffUHunt at line 1, I mean line 3.  Not quite ready for primetime Hunt has Buddy the Elf thinking of money lost on the pickle ball courts.  Mr. Ed and Arn Anderson prove formidable has Tricky thinking what could have been if these two could have made some more matches together.  No offense, B III.

The Ego is rising.  Cannon’s request to play with the Ego just want Team Smackenroe needed.  The The Ego rising just in time and his ability as the wolfman whisperer cannot be taken lightly.  Just ask Graham Cracker Mitch and the point adverse candlestick maker.  Nice win Smackenroe twosome, Swami lost money on this one.

5 and a 11 vs. a 6 and a 13.  This one should have been won by Smackenroe.  Why all this upset talk aimed at Lil Nadal?  Super Ray didn’t disappoint, and Dine and Ditch’s tennis’ IQ is on the rise not to mention his much improved back hand.  Swami says Little Nadal didn’t have his A game that’s for sure.  May have tried to do a little too much but net game needs some work.  Big Jeruzalem played extremely well…and kept FOY in the match!  At least until the last game (three double faults)…😉  Don’t worry Big J, this loss is on me.

Brad, stepping into Line 1 vs. Mr. Ed and Anderson with Gaelic Gazeley a little ambitious. Jennings and Anderson won the match but came in 2nd to the Rock and Roll Express aka. Smack Talk Champions 3 and 4.  You would have thought Team Big Swinging Sticks was winning with all the chirping going on.

And this is why you draft The Red Baron in the first round!  Can this line in this round propel BSS back into the title chase?  All eyes will be on Jock vs. Otillio match up for season finally.  Saba played well when he got his chance to it with topspin, but al lot to ask from the John Denver twin young Nick.  Kenny takes it 1 and 2.

Battle of Undefeated pairings did not live up to the billing as Goof and Come back Shane take down the Prince and Svelte Mitch in straights.  Really not as close as the score would suggest.  This BSS twosome is solid and if Goof gets a full 8 hours of sleep the previous night, they will be a tough pair to contend with the rest of the way.  I don’t see any more experimenting separating this twosome from here on out.  I do however see a interesting match-up in their future vs. Hefty Lefty and the Tanned one.

Dalton making his presence felt since his return paired with an ascending Ferrer.  Word is Butcher and Econ struggled yet again.  Captain goes against advice from a former winning captain and spreads the already thin talent on this team thinner.  Candlestick Maker cannot carry his 8th round partner into the promised land and all but seals fate of FOY’s title hopes.

And why is JA playing line 5?  Against Toups and Persons to boot!  SOB.  This one had several scratching their heads.  And a Chairman complaining about not being in the lineup.  Welcome to Bentleague Dave and Steve.  And for your first match we put you against a 6-foot 4 inch net specialist nick named Big Honeysuckle.  Good win for LA Tech’s #1 fan Mr. Steve Burgess.

Twinkle Toes Travis (king of the foot faults) goes down for the first time in Bentleague paired with Jan Buise.  And no one loses with Yawn.  Damn, what a way to lose your first match of B VI.  And the foot faulting may play a role in MVP balloting.  With the Ego rising and Angry Buddy making an appearance, this pressure packed victory came in just in time for Smackenroe to avoid another shut out at the hands of the Masked Marauders.  Congrats Ego for getting over .500 and for Buddy the Elf justifying 2nd overall pick selection.  He’s also a gold medalist in the senior Olympics in pickle ball so you have that going for you too.

Jacques keeping pace with most overall point competitors in win against the Sergeant in singles.  Jock solidifying Best 2nd round selection with first B VI victory not directly tied to a Juan B partnership. May set up a Travis Jock pairing and a singles line match up against FOY in the last match unless Yawn is scared of a Lil Nadal matchup.  Keller and O’Connell injury forcing the Sergeant to the singles line not exactly what Addison had in mind on draft day.

Can Addison win with anyone else besides Jawn?  Ray steps out away from the comfort zone of line 5 into the firing squad of M.r Rehash and Killer Kobrock.  I don’t get how Hefty Lefty can’t win with Kobrock but the Donald can.  Donald stepping into MVP conversation with multiple partner victories.  Addison wishing Jawn would have lost early in senior pickle ball but congrats anyone to the silver medalist in both singles and doubles.

Is this score correct?  Wayne’s World Durr and Big Head Todd take down Gordo and GreGore LaCoste.  Here’s another guy missing Jawn from Da Parish.  Rain delays may have hurt momentum of Smackenroe twosome.  Thought they were primed to take the second set and force a third.  If Todd can avoid the Double Clutch Bus walking down the street during his serve, he can hold his own with most on ground strokes.   Swami says Wayne’s World’s consistency was a deciding factor.  And GreGore’s weary legs!

9-7 Big Swinging Sticks and all but erasing FOY Title Hopes.

Two Matches to Go.  So you saying there’s a chance…?

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
