Commish!

Great start to the season.  Mostly close matches and you gotta win those third set tiebreakers.

Scores:

Cobra Kai vs. Cannon’s Wolf-Pac

Russell/Will       Nick/Addison    6-1, 6-0

Overall number 1 pick proves his worth.  Skinny legs and “I Will be on time” put an ass-whooping on their opponents.  I thought this one was going south before the match when Nick said they were the wily veteran team.

Chris/Ray           Ed/Mike              4-6, 6-3, 10-5

Cannon’s move to put his number 1 at number 2 works out.  Saw some good tennis from these guys and scores show it.

David/Rob         Brad/Mark         6-3, 6-4

Brad’s drive for #5 has begun.  Good pairing with the Scheister

Jay/Drew            Cayman/Hal      7-5, 3-6, 15-13

What a battle.  Hal was still in mixed doubles mode as many times as he stepped in front of Cannon to take the shot.

Ernie/Greg         Dave/Vaughn    6-3, 6-4

Now that is a wily veteran team.  Brains before brawn equals victory.

Cannon wins 5-3

Butcher’s Cracked Rackets vs. Duecebag

Noah/James      Mark/JA             6-1, 7-6

Ego and JA come out strong and prevail in the end.

Jay/Greg             Robby/Jeff         3-6, 6-1, 11-9

And there goes the racket.  Hard to get over that missed match point.

Kevin/Joey         Mark/Ronny      7-6, 3-6, 10-1

Glad I’m back from Arkansas.  Lob was spot on.  Tiebreaker got away from Squirrel and Joey.

Jared/Thomas   Billy/Blake          7-5, 6-4

Young guns prevailed in this one.  Looked to be back and forth match til the end.

Chris/Dave         Chris/Greg         7-6, 6-4

This one was the nightcap.  The Judge was strutting after all those forehand winners.

Duecebag wins 6-2

As a reminder for the early matches on Thursday nights, please get there early and be ready to start on-time.  We have matches that will follow and club closes at 9.

Thanks,

Ronny Regouffre

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap

Bentleague X: The Sequel Draft Recap   Not for the faint of heart…back by popular demand…here is the St. Bernard Swami’s recap of the Bentleague X Draft.   First things first, this is an unbiased take on the captain’s picks and how the teams fared out on draft night.   As the ombudsman of Bentleague you can count on an unbiased evaluation of each team from top to bottom.   Congrats to the Commish for finally getting rid of the cockamamie scoring system that favored top picks more than late round selections.   This is an inclusive league for all PAC members, and a win by Rockin Toupsie or Josh (Mr. Irrelevant) should be just as much as a win by Russ “Don’t call me Russell” Anderson.   Wait…did Josh win any Bentleague matches last year?   I digress…on to the team draft grades. Drafting in the number one position was Hairy Hal Neitzschman aka. Spin Doctors II.   No surprise here with Russ going first overall.   Clear #1 by everyon...

Bentleague Blog/Vlog 10/22/2025 - Round 2 Match 2 and 3

I'll BE BACK! Going with the VLOG to recap match 2 and 3 of Round 2. https://youtu.be/rLpJlQK81UM? feature=shared --- Here are a couple of parting shots as I go to the IR: Sensei Kobrock will live in Bentleague infamy for having a person who was in Germany in the line up. Grant is still winless!  How is this even possible with those fundamentals. Rudy is working hard to fulfill third round expectations...finally gets in the Win column and it only took five matches! Old Knees Harvey should not complain about being at line 6.  Congrats on the W with Millsie. Nick is the only captain this year to not have a previous title under his belt and its showing.   Don't bet on the Ego on Saturday mornings! The youngin's are asserting themselve,s but a few of the old guard still know how to win.  Especially in TSTB's. Round 3 will reveal who had the best draft middle on down.  Time to get some more players involved. Being on the IR during Bentleague is more painf...
