BENTLEAGUE (B III) - Blog Update 8/30/2017 (This is how we roll) ·          It’s going to be another great league.  The leagues’ namesake has taken back commissioner duties and has the full support of the B II Board members.  Let’s do this!!!  ·          Draft Day is Thursday, September 7th at the Lake House.  ·          Captains are Kevin, Steve, Ferr, and Gordo.  ·          Rules have been communicated.  4 lines of doubles will be played.  Mike Hunt rule has been implemented and we are counting lines won, not matches won (Eff U Hunt).  All LINES Matter! ·          League start date is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 28th.   ·          Draft order is as follows:  o ...

Commissioner’s’ Corner - 8/26/2016 Draft Order for Bentleague II was determined on a wet August evening in Mandeville Louisiana yesterday evening.  La Caretta’s was the setting with live music, chips/salsa, and happy hour prices.  Ray was noticeably nervous for the pre-draft order determination so I do not have confidence in his drafting ability.  A lot of discussion centered around the Commissioner’s weighted draft.  The Chalmette weighted drafting system stood up against inferior mathematic minds and withstood ridicule mostly coming from Principal Belding (Brad) and Ray.  The lone 4.5 captain was not happy with a 18.18 percent chance at obtaining the first pick of the first round.  The others had a 27.27 percent chance at the first pick overall and the right to draft Jeff.  Just a little advice from Last year’s champion…team chemistry is just as important as talent.  You have to come together as a team first before earning the trophy. Hell of a start Boys….Here are some highlights and lowlights…. ·          East Jeff Warriors in the house.  Bentley and Mitch carry the day although team still loses.  Ray infuriates B I Commish with “morning after a night of smoking stogies and drinking cheap whiskey” comment.  Combo of Gordon and Schneider has to sing EJ fight song before next match or incur underwear up the flag pole. ·          Hunt questioning value of  2 nd overall pick after no. 3 shines.  Steve officially knows where Ycloskey is and is rooting for CHS over HC this week.  Go Owls.  FYVM.  Can 6 th rounder (Morlas) save their season after disappointing 1 st week. ·          #ElGuapo (Burt) pays homage to Miguelito (Mike) on social media for Birthday victory.  Brian looking like a genius for picks 4 and 5.  See FB Summary if you want to pr...

Commissioner’s Corner 9/30/2016: ·          Standings and Schedule Attached.  Oh No... Brad (Triple H) is in 1 st Place!  All teams at 1 and 1.    ·          Chupacabra and El Cubano continue winning ways.  Burt played great again!  Social Media stay tuned.  ·          Emile 0-2 has Hunt questioning draft selection even after getting first W for Nice Shot but Out.  Team name is accurate even if line calls are not.  Ronny still not over non-selection by Hunt. ·          2 and O Bentley throws down the gauntlet and secures team win for Hunt with a little help from Billy.  If anyone didn’t know…. Commissioner’s Corner 10/7/2016 ·          Standings and Schedule Attached. 2 nd Tab has individual Records.  Two teams a 2 and 1. ·          WTF happened!  Chupacabra and El Cubano continue winning ways. Overall Picks 4 & 5 rolled over picks 1, 2, & 3.  Although Donald was handicapped by Brad! ·          WTF takes over 1 st Place with previous head to head victory.  Bad back and bad knee may be a blessing for WTF allowing Cuban Connection to stay together.  Can they play all 9 matches together?  Triple H looking for revenge next match now that Brad realizes he should not play line 1 ·          Did Ray (Stogies) lose all three again?  Did he lose them all in tie breakers?  Was that 8 tie break losses in three weeks?  I’m thinking Ray takes a cue from Brad a...

Commissioner’s corner delayed because I played golf today and worked a little bit today.  Also,, sulking after a tough loss last night. Mac Tonight answered the bell.  That’s all I can say.  Congrats to team Croft for a well earned victory.  Croft cements first place in B II with victory. Also…congrats to Hunt (and Mark) for earning first victory.  I ‘d never hear the end of it if I didn’t acknowledge victory over Ronny and Steve.  Sorry Steve. 11/4/2016 - B II Commissioner's Corner ·          Standings and Schedule attached. ·          Nice Shot, but Out (Hunt’s team) moves into First Place with victory over short handed Croft squad.  Croft healing and Andrew on another continent proves insurmountable challenge for WTF squad. ·          Hunt and Mark finding their doubles groove at a opportune time.  Hand Chupacabra and El Cubano first loss as a team .  Too much gumbo and cigars for Mesa at Tops’l according to Burt.  BD threatening fitness program for El Cubano in order to right the ship.  ·          There has been an Anath siting and its about time captain.  Lefty combination of Anath and Emile tame Chap and Skip in a close hard fought match.  Can anyone beat this touch lefty pairing?  Hunt gloating on line up choices...

Commissioner’s Corner 11/11/2016 ?          Salute to all Veterans.  Thank you for your service! Commissioner’s Corner 12/10/16 - the final chapter - Triple H Captures B II Championship! Brad dials up potent line up for winner take all title match vs. Eff U Hunt. Matches mostly lived up to pre match hype. But before we delve into title matches let me give some press to the also rans - Chupacabra and El Cubano finish strong and give captain Ray another loss. Latin lovers shine on rubico and beat Ray and Bruce on Schiester Bruce's preferred surface. Oh what could of been if email snafu wouldn't have occurred and Mike wouldn't have pulled his no show routine. Heal up Croft...
